first clown show

well Yesterday Saturday was the first clown show there were 3 of us there in makeup and 2 making balloonsat the Salvation Army in homestead for their VBS party
it was a celebration of the completion of the week of Vacation Bible School.
i am told there were 35 or so kids and we made balloons for all who wanted them, including some parents.
fun was had by all and here is a picture i am the 1 in the big wig

well tomorrow -saturday is the ist clown show i am involved in which i am told is juast gonna be a baslloon fest basically but in makeup and costume i am so excited and nervous i will give a report afterwards

well i spent some time today workinmg on the motorcycle






I have had a problem with a bit of chrome on the tank when the light hit tit just right i was blinded






as you might see here

so i took it off and got the scratchy pad and primer and spray paint and fixed the problem i hope as you can see here

its not a big deal but ...... what is?

I have been helping out at the Salvation Army that the clown brigade is based out of in homestead. we have been building a puppet stage for the show and pillars for the set and yesterday we built a 4ft x8 ft bulletin board for clown news and events and such with a white board in the middlei dont have the pics but they are in Zeeppo's knitting blog

plus in just over 2 weeks i am going to Ohio bike week with my Christian Missionary Church with our motorcycle ministry which should be exhilerating

Well it is moithers day and i gave mom a "vase" full of "tullips"

clown scarf

well i promised a picture of the scarf i designed with 3 arms for the clown brigade and here it is
what I did was the first row was 1 knit stitch and for the second row i added a knit stitch and for the 3rd row i added a knit stitch at the beginning of the row and so on till i got the triangle for the center i chose to make the triangle 28 stitches

after i had the triangle i picked 3 rib patterns 1 for each arm of the scarf

after completing the rib pattern i reduced to the triangle like at the beginning knitting 2 together at the beginning of each row untill i got down to 1 stitch

then i picked up 28 stitches on the second side of the triangle and proceeded with the second rib pattern following the same procedure as before just with the new rib

and the same for the 3rd side of the triangle.

after the 3 arms were finished and knotted off i made 3 big pom poms for the ends

but a word of advice from my mistake make sure your choice of rib pattern isnt mostly stockinette as it will curl as my 1 arm is.

Sunday March 20

Well tomorrow is sunday march 20 and i am looking forward to the Blessing Of The Bikes in Murrysville at my church Murrysville Alliance Church.
we have a pretty big motorcycle ministry there. last year we had over 10,000 bikes and it was great.
eventhough it looks like rain and there is a call for rain in south west pa we should still have a decent turn out, probably not as many as without rain but...

busy

well I am sorry for not posting in a while but here goes. i an now a apprentice clown with the Steel City Clown Brigade, and part of the curiculum is knitting a sweater, a funny hat , and a funny scarf. i have only been knittting for 4 months or so but i am trying to design my funny scarf and i can already see it in my head. i am naturally making it out of the classy Red Heart Mexicanna cause thats what clowns do ... lol
i will get a picture as soon as i get enough to see what is in my head

well it was another Quiet day at charity knitting at Natural Stitches today just Steven and myself... come on pittsburgh lets knit for charity. i am starting my first kimo cap for the charity knitting.

new project

well i am being brave or ambicious or something i am going to try and make a sweater vest for myself and i am a bit on the large side so this is probably going to take FOREVER. i am not a fast ;nitter yet so this should be ready by fall i think, lol.

i am making it out of sensations rainbow classic color is #42912 which is a brown and tan varigated 11 oz/skein 615 yards

well we had another good mens knitting night at Natural Stitches- no one died- Yippee.
lol. just kidding there were 7 men tonight no omne was really in a chatty mood tonight we were just all into our projects.
every month we get larger which is a good thing,

it is my first cable project and i was told this is a great cable starter because you wont get overwhelmed like in a cable sweater. it is a little challenging till you get the rythem down.and in doing this project you also learn how to pick up stitches so i am learning 2 new things in 1 project- cabling and picking up stitches.

tuesday Ravelry group

well we had a record turn out for ravelry knitting group at Natural Stitches this week of 13 and that was without 2 of the regular (as regular as we get) ravelry kniters. we had a lady from Turkey join us and another lady from Floridia who is part of a group taking one of the abandoned buildings in the area and making an art center.

it was a great night of knitting and socializing

Well as i mentioned Friday was my day off and as a project Mom and I went through her stash and she donated ALOT of her yarn to charity knitting. but before she donated it she asked if i was interested so here are a couple pics of my stash.
one of the big items is 30 of the Big skeins of Rainbow Boucle =can you say "sweater time"? lol
then there is about 6 hanks or bundles or something of super bulky for a sick blanket for the recliner. i admit its not a good color buttt...
then there is just a bunch of small treasures like sock yarn and misc yarns and even some that called out to be kilt hose.

and if all that wasnt enough i went to mens knitting night at Natural stitches and 6 men had a good time just knitting and talking.

well it is friday and i have the day off, so in addition to going to mens night @ Natural Stitches tonight, mom and i are gonna sort and organize her stash. we will see what she wants to keep for her stash then what is left will be sifted through for my stash then what is still left will go for charity knitting. mom gets first crack because she bought it .

Sunday The day of rest

i was going to church today and half way there i blew a brake line so i proceeded to go to church then i drove home with only the parking brake (fun) so i got home and proceeded to tear the brakes apart and in changing the brake lines for the rear i touched the fuel return line and it blew. so now not only do i have to replace the rear brake lines but i have to drop the tank and repair the gas line. boy it is nice being a knitting mechanic i guess.

Friday night

Well Friday night i went with Steven to the "cult" meeting at the borders in South Hills Village i believe it was. Had a SUPER time was a wonderful bunch of people. even thoughi wasnt knitting a manly project i was excused because it is for my mom. steven pointed this out even though he was knitting gay pride colors. the scarf is the 1 i started thursday night and it is comming along pretty quick. I definately wanna go back to the "cult" knitting group.
